A member asked:

If you have type 1 diabetes, will juice cause weight gain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: I seldom recommend juices any more because I consider them little more than flavored sugar water. The potential health benefits are over sold,as you can get the nutrients in a calorie free pill.As a practical issue, a small amount of juice,as part of balanced nutrition, is fine for most, including diabetics. However, I have treated many chubby kids who dropped 10 lb/yr by just eliminating juices.
