A member asked:

I have eczema in the creases of my elbows and knees. if my baby has eczema, would it be in the same places?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: Eczema typically presents in the flexor surfaces (elbow and knee crease) during childhood, with involvement of the extensor (elbows, knees, ankles) in adults. As you see from your own experience, this trend is not universal. That being said, pattern of eczema is largely individualized, and not necessarily patterned according to familial patterns.
