Yes: Testing for celiac disease (gluten allergy) should be considered in people with chronic or recurrent diarrhea, malabsorption, weight loss, and abdominal distension or bloating. There is blood testing available and should be performed while on a gluten-rich diet. Antibodies against tissue transglutaminase (anti-TTG), which is highly sensitive and specific is used as a screening tool.
