Either or birch tree: Reactions to orange can be either to the peel or the pulp (the fleshy part of the orange). Many people who have only itching in their mouth & throat after eating oranges and other raw fruits and vegetables actually have oral allergy syndrome. Oas is caused by allergy to birch tree pollen and the immune system mistaking fruit proteins for pollen allergens. Which one is your problem?
