Yes, ...: Postoperative urinary retention may develop but can be prevented by catheterizing the patient timely to avoid bladder undue overdistention while the bladder under stressful conditions to empty such as after deep general anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, pain, lying position, pain medication, presence of existing silent lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), etc. So, beware these and manage it timely...
