A member asked:

What are the symptoms and treatment for a vitamin d deficiency?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vit. D deficiency: Hi. No surprise here, but you treat vitamin D deficiency with vitamin D. The exception is kidney failure where you have to treat with the active hormone form of vitamin D (calcitriol) because the failed kidneys can't make it. Vitamin D deficiency is usually asymptomatic, but in the extreme can cause bone pain and fractures.
