Loop diuretics about: inhibiting tubular absorption, not glomerular filtration: the glomerular pathology of nephrotic syndrome. Thus no! If anything, Lasix, (furosemide) & other loop diuretics, up to a point, may be slightly protective by inhibiting concentration, diluting cleared proteins within the distal tubules & collecting ducts, etc. Nephrotic syndrome promotes edema due to loss of albumen: responsible for preventing edema.
