Rosacea and microder: If you have rosacea you can have microdermabrasion but you may get a flare of redness afterwards, which should be temporary. Make sure you go to someone very experienced with both microdermabrasion and rosacea, such as a dermatology office.

Dermabrasion: You might be referring to microdermabrasion which is a minor procedure without any down time for the skin. Dermabrasion is the traditional sanding down of the skin for bad acne scarring or other scars and you need up to 2 weeks to recover. Microdermabrasion can be done in rosacea skin but should not be too frequent as it can increase the redness.
