The TIII/TIV classification has to do with invasion of the cancer outside the pancreas per se into other tissue (vessels, nerves, adjoining soft tissue), and distant sites. A 1 cm adenocarcinoma is capable of being stage TIII or stage TIV upon surgical excision, when the pathologist has all the relevant tissue to analyze. Hang in there. We're rooting you and the team.
