A member asked:

I have hypothroid. will having this make it harder to get pregnant? or should i still be able to get pregnant no problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Treated?: Hi. May we assume it's treated, and that on thyroid hormone replacement, your thyroid function tests are normal? If so, normal thyroid function has no adverse effect on fertility. Once conception is achieved, many women need to have their l-thyroxine dose increased early in pregnancy and for the duration, then returned to the pre-preg dose after delivery. Your gyn knows all that stuff. Good luck!
