If numbness...: If you are experiencing leg pain and numbness associated with back pain it is possible that you might be experiencing a spine disc herniation comprising a nerve. If these symptoms are severe it is important that you see a doctor ASAP for formal exam and treatment. Depending on the findings and the severity of symptoms you might need an MRI. If not severe physical therapy might be indicated.

Back Spasms: With pain and numbness after an acute injury I feel it is best to seek care from a physician for a physical a neurological examination. Most run of the mill weekend back injuries do not have numbness to this degree associated with them
