Is supernumerary nipple genetic or random? how common is it?

Common: 1/18 males and 1/50 females is the reported incidence. Familial forms exist although rare. Most seems random. There is an association between "triple nipple" and urogenital abnormalities so that it is reasonable to examine and consider studies.
