Possibly: If your partner had active herpes lesions, and you or she touched them, and then touched you, then you absolutely could have been infected. Herpes lesions quickly become painful and usually are filled with fluid until they rupture. Antiviral medication can shorten the duration. See a doctor.

Possibly...: If there was mutual manipulation of your genitals and the lesions were touched and your hands put in contact with the other's genitals then there is possibility this could've happened. The only way to tell for sure is getting a direct exam and culture of the lesions. Have a medical provider take a look at them and test them for final diagnosis.
