Need thorough evaluation: You need a thorough evaluation. If you are perimenopausal, decreased estrogen levels can make the vaginal and vulvar tissue thinner, so more prone to irritation. It could be a reaction to a soap or other chemical you are exposed to. If it's always one spot, it may need to be examined for a skin disorder, such as lichen sclerosis or vulvar or vaginal neoplasia.
