Gynecomastia: Physiologic or " expected" gynecomastia should last for no longer than 1 year. See your doctor for an exam to determine if this is glandular tissue or fat tissue. Often fibrotic changes occur that require treatment. Other causes of prolonged gynecomastia should be reviewed. Look at any medications you may be taking. Your MD can do any necessary tests and refer you to a gynecologist.
