Depends on cause.: There are many kinds of hair loss, with many causes, from illnesses to surgical procedures to medications to crash diets to stress. Once you know the cause you can tailor a treatment plan. Your dermatologist can help you with this. Betamethasone will help with some types of hair loss but not others - so get professional help for this.

A 41-year-old member asked:

Could I be prescribed diprolene (augmented betamethasone dip) for my hair loss.?

Possibly: Diprolene (augmented betamethasone dip) is the brand name for a steroid called betamethasone. Some patients with inflammatory alopecia may respond to topical steroids. However, that is far too general a statement to hang your hat on. Having a dermatologist involved in your eval and care would be a good thing to consider.
