Many possibilities: It could be from an infection in the tooth from trauma, small fibroma (benign), spot of irritation from fingers. best way to rule out infections is to visit your dentist and have an xray to determine if there is an intra-boney infection. if you can wipe it off it might be the start of a yeast infection
