A member asked:

My ana came back again last night. it was 1:320. now >=1:640. what does >= mean? is the increase significant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Needs work up: Those are very high ANA. Up to 10% of the "normal" population will have an elevated ANA without any disease. They typically run no higher than 1:160. I really have more questions than answers for you though. Why was it checked to begin with? Are you having any symptoms of joint pain, swelling, rash? Any other symptoms or abnormal blood tests? You need to be worked up for connective tissue disease.
