I had a positive ana of 1:620 speckled pattern in march & july 31st had another come back positive 1:160 speckled pattern, what could this mean?

Lupus: Elevated ANA can indicate an autoimmune process, with lupus being the most suspect. Other conditions like rheumatoid arthritis can also elevate the ana. You can have an expanded antibody blood panel to further define whether there are additional antibodies associated with lupus, and also see your physician to evaluate for physical signs of lupus.

Possibly nothing.: An ANA is a very nonspecific test and must be evaluated in the context of the clinical symptoms. See a rheumatologist.

See below: Repeating ANA to see if a titer or numerical value increases or decreases has no value and does not reflect clinical disease activity. A positive ANA has to be interpreted in the context of your exam, history and other lab values.
