A member asked:

Do blood thinners actually increase risk of an aneurysm/blood vessel rupturing, or do they simply make bleeding worse if a problem happens from another cause (ie. trauma or high blood pressure)? thanks!

Correct: very rarely there could be spontaneous bleeding and that occurs if the blood gets thinner than recommended values. however if you have an aneurysm it wont increase your risk of rupture. however if bleeding does occur then hard to control.

No they dont: Yu stated the issue correctly. Anticoagulants themselves do not increase the risk of rupture, only the amount of bleeding if rupture occurs. This may make the treatment of a rupture more difficult and less successful should it occur.o

The latter: The latter explanation could not have been worded better in my opinion.
