I have an lvad and i'm having trouble losing weight but that's the only way i'll get a new heart. i've tried everything and i'm lost on what to do?

Lvad: Now that you have an LVAD, exercising will be easier for you. Remember that losing weight is always difficult and it is a process that may take several months to accomplish. It is all about spending more calories and keeping a negative balance. It needs a lot of motivation and a reachable goal , that in your particular car is to get a new heart. Let's start ASAP.

Weight loss: Losing weight when you can't exercise to increase your metabolism is very difficult. You have to try and decrease your caloric intake while maintaining nutrition as much as possible. Weight loss pills aren't a good option. If you can be in a cool/cold environment without artificial heat or much insulation, you may be able to force some increase in metabolism that way.
