Accutane: Accutane is a very serious and potentially dangerous chemotherapy drug with significant and potentially long lasting complications prescribed for severe nodular acne disease. It should not be prescribed to woman who may be or wish to be pregnant as it may cause significant birth defects. Accutae may clear up Acne but does not prevent Acne breakout in the future.

Time will answer: in some studies, more than 50% of patients do not have any significant return of acne after a proper course of Isotretinoin (Accutane). The other 50% of patients eventually have some acne return, but rarely to the degree they had before. .
