I seriously doubt...: ...that falling on your foot had anything to do with osteophyte formation in your vertebral column, assuming that's what you mean. (Is it?) The "nerve" sort of, indirectly, runs into to the foot but that doesn't mean it's causing your pain, which you don't describe (burning, aching, etc.). Don't get cut-happy. Surgery is a last resort for back problems & usually only if you have motor weakness.
