Gabapentin: It's not wise to go "cold turkey" off benzodiazepines--but it's not a good idea to keep taking them, either. A recent study in the British Medical Journal reported that even moderate doses of benzodiazepines cause a dramatic increase in the risk of Alzheimer's dis. Gabapentin is not a controlled drug, and can be prescribed by HealthTap Prime docs. It is excellent for insomnia (600-800mg).
