Depends: Depends upon the scenario. Where is probably is the most q. Where is the clot. Usually we leave the body to take care of the clot, and take measures to prevent formation of additional clot - for example in Pulmonary embolism or DVT. That might differ in situations like heart attack or PAD - where urgent blood clot retrieval - mechanically is usually undertaken - with clot dissolvation.
