Pain: I would think that they are totally unrelated as the cyst is unlikely to cause you pain .It was more likely to be due to exertion

Perhaps: A cyst can impinge on the ureter on the same side which can then impede urine flow causing some kidney pain on that side. However, I doubt if a 6 cm cyst is large enough to cause such problems, so the pain is probably coincidental. If the pain persists, please see your doctor soon.
