Slight possibility: Cystic lesions of the ovary smaller than 4-5 cm. are usually benign. For those that may be converting to a malignant state the cystic component tends to become complex. Because angiogenic factors play a role in the malignant lesion, hypervascular components to this type of cystic structure raise questions as to transformation. Careful screening with MRI and observation is necessary.
