A member asked:

Can cefuroxime be used for strep throat?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Absolutely: Stretococcus is a bacterial infection of the tonsils or pharynx (back of the the throat). Cefuroxime is a reasonable choice as an antibiotic. Even if you are allergic to amoxacillin (amino-penicillins) this is a safe drug to take.
