Adverse Reaction-flu: Upper respiratory symptoms including nasal congestion, fever, runny nose, etc. are listed as known adverse reactions to the live attenuated nasal flu vaccine, and many people experience this. The symptoms are usually mild, self limited and far less severe that a full flu infection. These symptoms are NOT expected as a result of the flu injection.

Some Side Effects: We do see possibility of some side effects with flu vaccine, fever and mild congestion with sore throat. Keep in mind that the influenza virus can cause a week or more of high fevers and illness! The vaccine benefits are worth the risk also because the complications like pneumonia are lessened with the vaccine. Stay Healthy!
