Observe: Could be a lymph node or cyst. You could have it examined by your doctor to see if anything needs to be done urgently. For the time being, you can observe it, put a warm or cold compress on it and play it by ear. Good luck

Lymphadenitis: A tender lump under the chin in an young person usually indicates that some bacteria or virus from the lower lip or floor of the mouth was trapped by the submental lymph nodes and prevented from spreading further. Most times the swelling will subsided on its own. If it persists longer than a month or continues to enlarge you must see your Dr. to make sure that its nothing more serious
