Is it?: In my own experience, it can be. It can also be difficult. It depends on each of you. Also, other folk who may have problems w/ it. But if it works, great! During this stage of your life, it's fine to discover the connections w/in a circle of friends that match your interests and needs. I'd try to 'save' the use of "ex" for marriage changes.
