A member asked:

I haven't done any intensive exercise for the past couple of years and i want to start exercising again. i had a blood test which showed my crp levels were 3mg. i've heard that ideally they should be <1mg. will the crp levels affect your fitness?

No but its important: CRP is a marker for inflammation or infection. Your doctor should specify what it means for you. CRP in some people is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease. You should get this clairified by your doctor prior to starting an exercise program. Having a high CRP does not make you either more or less fit.
