A young adult needs : 7 1/2- 9 hours of sleep/night. If it takes you > 1/2 hour to fall asleep, take a sleep log to a visit with your doctor. If sleep hygiene measures don't work, seek referrals for an overnight sleep study for medical diagnosis, a psychiatrist to rule out an anxiety disorder or depression & a psychologist for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
