Yes but: Yes it can be subtle and not overtly seen by others. But, there is binocular and monocular diplopia. Monocular diplopia is when it occurs in one eye and this will not be apparent to others. Monocular diplopia is often due to intraoptical problems in one eye. A good clinical exam can tell the two apart and provide any referral if indicated.
