Well, that depends: Upon what you are measuring your blood pressure for. If you want to monitor your BP in general then sitting with either arm is fine. If you are looking for vascular problems or positional changes in blood pressure that cause symptoms (That's called orthostasis) Then you want to measure both arms seated and compare (for vascular issues) or one arm lying down then same seated or standing or both.
