Every 1-2 years: If you are wearing Contact lens then you will need exam for renewal of your contact lens prescription. It's a standard requirement for contact lens renewal to have prescription check every year to avoid expiration. It usually expires after one year like any other prescription in medicine. In regards to glasses, its a good idea to have an exam every 1-2 years.
