Pregnancy test: A shortened menstrual period Can be a sign for an existing pregnancy. A home pregnancy urine test will show whether or not that is the case.

Many causes: A short period can happen for a number of reasons. Pregnancy is one cause; a cycle where you didn't ovulate can produce a short period; birth control pills or a progesterone secreting IUD can get you a short period; stress; severe weight loss...The list is pretty long. If pregnancy is a concern, do a home pregnancy test. I wouldn't worry too much unless it becomes a pattern. Best wishes!
