My 8 week baby has a skin tag on her cheek and a cartlidge next to it near her ears

Ear: No worries. That is an embryologic skin tag that is pretty common and forms during development. See an ENT to check out the outer and middle ear but usually they are normal.

It happens: The outer ear is formed by the joining of several such collections of skin/cartilage. By itself it is just a curiosity that will never hurt the kid. If it hung off like a regular skin tag in a thin string like stalk it could be tied off with a suture. It would fall off from lack of circulation. When they have a thick base, they can be taken off by a simple surgical procedure later.
