Rabies Vaccine: None. However, Immunosuppressive agents should not be administered during post-exposure therapy, unless essential for the treatment of other conditions. When rabies post-exposure prophylaxis is administered to persons receiving steroids or other immunosuppressive therapy, it is especially important that serum be tested for rabies antibody to ensure that an adequate response has developed.

Rabies Vaccination : immunosuppressive drugs and corticosteroids may reduce the immune response to vaccines. Also chloroquine may reduce the antibody response to intradermal rabies vaccine. The intramuscular route should be used. Vaccine response with low CD4 counts, in people with HIV is also poor. May need double dose or multiple site intradermal injection.
