Possible: Herpes is spread by " contact" thus separate plates and eating utensils are wise steps to take. The food ITSELF will not spread the virus.

Yes, but: In general only if utensils or glasses are shared, or you have contact with oral secretions of the infected person. At a traditional meal where everyone has their own plates and utensils and the serving dishes are not eaten out of directly, there is essentially no risk.
