IWantToGetYouHigher!: As pregnancy progresses, just about everything (except your knees and toes) gets pushed up higher in the abdomen. This creates a potential problem when trying to decide what may be causing abdominal pain. Early on no prob, but late in pregnancy it's a PITA. This elevation due to the growing uterus can cause indigestion, constipation, cramps, etc and changes the usual presentation of other problems.

Abd pain: pregnant: At 27 weeks pregnant, the weight of the increased size of the uterus and the fetus with the fluid that surrounds it will cause pressure on your colon, and result in left colon pain extending to your rib cage if constipated, which is very common in pregnancy. Ask your healthcare provider for a mild laxative and both hydrate yourself and eat more fiber. It is probably not irritable bowel syndrome.
