PTC: Hi. Papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is the most common type of thyroid cancer, and generally also carries the best prognosis. General sequence is detect a nodule, do needle biopsy (find cancer), do ultrasound of neck looking for lymph nodes, have thyroid and suspicious nodes surgically removed, get treated with radioactive iodine. TSH suppression lifelong in most cases. Follow serum thyroglobulin.
