How soon after delivery can you become pregnant?

With your next cycle: You can technically become pregnant with your next cycle after your delivery. Note that nursing generally prevents pregnancy, but women have become pregnant while nursing so it's not a fool proof method of contraception.

Pregnancy: delivery: One "can" usually become pregnant without having a period after delivery, since ovulation occurs before a period. This usually happens after about six weeks if you are not nursing. If you are asking when is it "safe and best" to become pregnant, it is statistically best between one year and eighteen months after delivery, especially if you had a caesarean section.
