Throat pain: Your description is suggestive of acute inflammation due to infection or trauma. If you still have your tonsils, this may be a tonsil stone which would be on one side with significant sharp pain without fever congestion or other symptoms consistent with infection. If you look at your throat in mirror you may see a white spot on side of pain which would be the stone, you can gargle or squeeze out.

Throat pain: Regardless if you have a UTI or not your throat problem is likely related to either strep, viral (adenovirus most common), allergic or viral rhinorrhea or mono. For starters try fluids, NSAID, and extra vitamin C. If no improvement in a few days get checked.
