Circle never broken: The BV circle of infection is obviously never broken as long as you are the only one being treated and intercourse continues. Have your boyfriend see a MD soon and you should refrain from sharing that "nasty odor" item until you are both cleared of any infections including STD's.

Probably unrelated: Odor similar to bacterial vaginosis can occur whenever there is overgrowth of anaerobic bacteria (i.e. don't require oxygen). This can happen in any closed space, e.g. under the foreskin (probably your partner is uncircumcised). His odor probably is unrelated to your BV or other infections. It should clear up if he will retract the foreskin and wash with soap & water 3-4 times daily.

Another reply suggested partner treatment for BV. Maybe worth a try, but don't get your hopes up; and I would try improved hygiene first. There is no clear male counterpart to BV, and treating male partners has not been shown to prevent BV recurrence. In lesbian women, BV IS sexually transmitted and usually shared between partners.) Also you both should be checked for STDs if not yet done.
