I had an iv 8 days ago and played volleyball tonight and where the iv was swelled and got a huge bruise like the a blowout vein. should i see a doctor?

Hematoma: Where the vein had been punctured for the IV the force of the volleyball has allowed for re-bleeding. Ice the area and apply a compression bandage to prevent further bleeding into the area. It's going to be sore for a few days and the bruising is going to take a while to go away. If you have any pain extending distally (away from torso) then get it looked at.
