That sounds awful: I'm glad you were not hurt physically, but it is still a traumatic event. Trauma and stress lower resistance and deplete body's reserves for healing optimally. It's no surprise that you feel worse. Be sure you're safe. Seek some PTSD prevention counseling. Take symptom relief OTCs as directed. It's true - you can avoid PTSD in many cases. OH MY: You have a lot going on the cold is the least of it. That seems like a virus and worsened by stress. I am concerned that the attempted mugging/rape seems to take second place as this is the most concerning event. Glad you are alright. Rest and fluids and analgesics for the virus.
