Not likely: Gout is an inflammatory condition caused by uric acid crystals forming in joints and soft tissues. The treatment is to increase uric acid output in the urine with medications like Allopurinol and penicillamine. Acute flares are treated with anti-inflammatory meds like Indocin (indomethacin) and colchicine. See your doc for help with managing your gout with diet and medication.
