Might be..: It sounds like you might have sprained your side muscles or rib cage. Ice the area and take anti inflammatory meds( like ibuprofen )if you are not allergic in order to improve symptoms. However,if you develop abdominal pain, urinary abnormalities, trouble breathing, then it might not be related to a strain and then you would need immediate evaluation. If this happens go to urgent care clinic.
