Not unpasteurized : Make sure your apple cider has been pasteurized because you are pregnant. Unpasteurized products can cause infection affecting a fetus.

Semantics: In the US and Canada cider refers to non-alcohol containing pressed apple juice. When sold commercially it must be pasteurized or irradiated. These are safe to consume in pregnancy. When sold fresh at a juice bar or farm it may contain live bacteria and yeast. I would advise these NOT be consumed if you are pregnant. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
